Guy's Cliffe House Warwick - 19/3/11

Last weekend, Michael and I went to one of our favourite places - Guy's Cliffe House in Warwick. We have, for a long time, salivated over this place, and couldn't wait to do our first ghost hunt there. With it's connection to  Free Masonry, The Templars and Mary Magdalene, we knew it was going to be special!

And we were not disappointed !

Arriving early, we were treated to an exclusive tour of the buildings, by the key-holders Ade and Shelly. The Masonic Temple and chapel, was amazing. Still decked out in the black and white carpet and with all the masonic symbols, including the all-seeing eye looking down at us. We felt numerous energies and spirits, and felt it was going to be an active night. The tunnel to the wine cellar was interesting. Although it has long since ceased to house any wine, now and again we would get a strong whiff of alcohol as one spirit approached - a man by the name of Bertie (Shelly confirmed he has been picked up before by other mediums). The house itself has limited access due to its disrepair but Michael was still able to tune-in to members of the family who once lived there.

For us though, the climax of the night was the small cave and well at the back of the house, said to be where Guy of Warwick lived out his hermitage. The energy was so serene and holy - more than any church I have ever been in. As we walked in, it was as if the spirits of ancient Templars walked out of the walls to greet us.

During the night we had some good activity with lights, noises and the guests managing to get the table tipping and the glasses moving.

It really is a fantastic location which I would recommend to anyone interested in the Templars and Ghost hunting.

My next blog will be on the eerie old Morcambe Winter Gardens, which we visit on 26/3/2011.
